About me
I am Malish John Peter Sudanese by nationality, I'm Diploma holder in social works. I'm very much interested in sensitive issues especially when it comes to politics. I'm compelled to this given the nature of our country's political scene. Many of my friends called "New Garang". currently I'm a member of the SPLM State youth league council and SPLM youth chairman for Lainya county in Central Equatoria State.
I have often love to work with civil society in the contrary to politics, I led a local organization known as Network for Education and Empowerment in South Sudan for two years before joining a bigger and challenging job with Mercy Corps as Outreach and Civic Engagement Officer in the state.
During my time with NEESS, i networked with many regional and international organizations through work camping, join activity plan and implementation accross East Africa. I like those who give construcive criticism wherever i work. But i'm sorry to tell you that, i'm sometimes argumative outside meanwhile at home, i'm considered the only shy guy out of four boys and two girls.
Sudan is one of the countries' in Africa undergoing serious political and social instability. With the current request to indict the country's reigning president, things are not easy via international relations. In fact Sudan changes from crisis to crisis especially the two ruling parties SPLM South and NCP North/Republic.
However, we will hold the first ever presidential and parliamentary elections mid 2009, our prayer is that what happened in Zimbabwe and Kenya would not come to our dying nation. Of course when this comes, then CPA is finished since 75% of the population still hold guns, what do you expect from such? If Kenyans can kill 1000s using machetes, how many will die of guns now? This is our current challenge guys!
Did i tell you about our dear southern Sudan, this is a promising nation in future. We have very nice valleys and plateaus for exhibition like the Fula falls in Nimule Eastern Equatoria state, beautiful landscapes and game parks in Jonglei and Upper Nile state. Efforts are already in place to operationalize the tourism industry in Southern Sudan. Our city is Juba, though still coming up but we are proud of it!
Guess what! I love being in bigger forums of discussions on substantial matters that affect humanity. I have written many commends on differents webs on issues of human rights violations and peace building. I have been able to print documents about Zimbabwe, Kenya ETC during their political unrest to paste it on board for the society to act in solidarity of their dear Africans.
I am impressed by this initiative and hope the members will discuss and network beyong this site to enable us contribute towards change in this world. I believe that "Everyone is unique and has a role to play in building a peaceful, just, democratic and harmonious world" regardless of who you are and where you are! Cheers! Congratulations to the founders.
