Christian child daycare centre
Short description
Around 2002, Johann and Marlena started encouraging unemployed church members to begin caring for toddlers of working parents while they were at work for a share of the wages. This idea grew into a well organised day-care centre.
Here over 140 toddlers get good day-care and five or six previously unemployed ladies have good incomes, hope, dignity and a vocation. A Parents Committee makes decisions, appointments, resolve conflicts etc.
The Day-care is self-funding except for initial set-up costs and for the cost of facilities presently free in buildings on the YMCA grounds.
No profit is made because all income is shared among the caregivers after expenses have been taken out. Charges are as low as possible aimed at about 10% of what the parent earns while the child is in day care.
The children have a loving, caring environment. They are taught Godly values, hygiene and simple life skills while enjoying games, fun activities and social interaction.
Three categories of children are catered for at present: babies in nappies, toddlers and pre-schoolers.

On arrival in Cape Town, Cape Life will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to your accommodation.
If you have booked the orientation days through us, you will be booked into a backpacker for three nights and experience Cape Towns most popular and famous spots like Table Mountain and Cape Point. You also get to explore Cape Town via a City Tour and experience a township.
Your Cape Town orientation will begin the Wednesday before your project begins. So make sure, that you book a flight to Cape Town and allow for the extra time!
On your first day we will give you a lift to your project and introduce you to the staff and program.

7. Cape Town information package. Included in this package is a mobile phone SIM card, which allows you to gain access to the local mobile communications network. Other information includes, city map and list of “things to do”
8. Organised tours and activities with other international students.
