Short description
Action to Support Orphans and Disadvantaged (ASOD) – Uganda started in 2004 my as a grassroots charity. On the 26th July 2005, the organisation was officially mandated by the laws of Uganda to be indigenous Non – Governmental Organisation (NGO), to provide services to people affected by HIV/AIDS and conflict. Focused on slum areas.
We provide care and support to orphans and vulnerable children by assisting the orphans who are affected and Infected with HIV/AIDS, and the disadvantaged.
Our mission is to fight against the spread of HIV/AIDS, use education and social services to improve the health status of disadvantaged communities in Uganda, build human capacity, and create synergy between the educational, health, and social sectors

We cordially invite you to visit us. We will host you in our local homes and communities. We need volunteers, and well-wishers who can teach us skills or help setup self sustaining projects and businesses as well as medical, School teachers and agriculture assistance are among the greatest need we have. Please consider staying with us for up to the period you wish deems. You will be making a huge impact in our community.

How to get there
All adults are screened for past criminal history and for skills in working with young people and small children. If you deside to come, you will need to contact the country director for further details and arrangment of your stay. Always, the plain puts you at Entebbe air port, pror arrangment will have been done, ASOD staff will pick you with a tax. It takes 45km to the site, this can take 40minutes drive.
How much does it cost?
Some little costs for acommodation us $ 30 per week, food and water us $ 25 per week. this can be arranged in first contact with the country director.

Through out the year. From January to December.
