Through our contact, a Tour and Travel company www.paradiseexecu-tours.co.ug shall handle general transport services/issues.
However, for tourists interested in traveling to Omiito (Community) on their own, below is information regarding Transport infrastructure and transport costs:-
Both buses and taxi (van) can be used to travel to Omiito.
Although some parts are still under repair, the road to Omiito is majorly tarmac. You take a bus from the old bus park (Kampala) to Soroti District via Tirinyi road at a fee of about $9 (15,000/= [Uganda Shillings]). Ask the conductor to stop at Kapir Trading Centre which is about 20 km after Kumi town. One needs about $1 (1,000/=) to take a motorcycle to omiito community or identified host family-distance is also walkable and the road isn’t tarmac but sandy (vehicles can also use the road). I wouldn’t advise using a taxi from Kampala to kapir trading centre because it shall require a stop over in Mbale district (district before Kumi district) thus take another taxi heading for Soroti district. Kapir Trading centre is the last trading centre along Kumi-Soroti Road.
How much does it cost?
